Absences & Changes to the Drop-off/Pick-up Schedule

If a consumer will be absent for the day, or will not be needing transportion for any reason, we must be notified of this change. Also, if you will be picking up a consumer from our workshop/skills center at the end of day (when they would usually require S.R.I. transportation home) please contact us. This will help ensure that the consumer will not leave the center before you arrive to pick him/her up.

Lost & Found

We have a designated Lost & Found area at both our North and South Skill Building Centers.  If a Consumer has lost a clothing article or any other personal item, please contact us at the phone number provided below.   We will do our best to locate any lost items.

Monthly Calendar

We create a Monthy Activity Calendar for both the North and South S.R.I. Skill Building Centers.   The information provided on these calendars includes: dates, locations of the outings, and fee (if any).  These calenders are given to the consumers who participate regularly in Community Outings/Recreational Activities.

If you would like a calendar, and have not received one by the 5th day of a new month, please contact your Site Supervisor.

Some Information to Keep In Mind

  • Consumers need to 'dress for the weather';  they may be outside during various parts of the day and need to be appropriately dressed to accommodate the weather conditions.

  • Consumers should bring bag lunches on a daily basis, with nothing that requires a 'heat up'. We do provide hot lunch once a month. If you would like any more information about the hot lunch, feel free to contact the Administrative Offices at (586) 677-3631.

  • Consumers will participate in monthly fire drills, and will participate in tornado drills during tornado season.

  • If there is a power-outage, such as the one which occurred in August of 2003, S.R.I. will not be able to operate.

What to Expect In Extreme Weather Situations

If you suspect that S.R.I. may be closed due to extreme weather situations, please feel free to call our Administrative Offices. Also, be sure to check FOX Channel 2 News.   If we must close, we will do our best to notify you. If you feel that your consumer should not participate in their program on an extreme weather day, and therefore the consumer will be absent, please notify us at (586) 677-3631.
